Simple Pulled Pork Recipe

What you'll need: * 2.5 kg boneless pork shoulder * 2 tsp paprika [http://www.food.com/about/paprika-335] * 3 tbsp olive oil * 1 tsp garlic salt * 1 tsp onion salt * 2 tsp mustard powder [http://www.food.com/about/mustard-seed-and-powder-93] * Your favourite BBQ sauce [http://www.foodnetwork.com/

What you'll need:

Method

First

Preheat your oven to 150C. Rub your pork with about 2 tbsp of olive oil, then sear all over in a large frying pan, until golden brown on all sides.

Second

Put your pork shoulder onto a wire rack in a roasting tray. Mix together the paprika, salts and mustard powder with some black pepper, and brush the mixture all over the meat.

Third

Pour a cup of water into the roasting tin, cover the whole shoulder with tin foil, and cook in the oven for five hours. By this time, the meat should be falling apart. Drain the juices and save in a jug, and then ‘pull’ the pork by shredding it with a pair of forks.

Fourth

Discard the fat from the top of the juices, then mix in 4 tbsp of BBQ sauce. Mix it all up, and pour over the meat. Give it another mix, then serve with brioche buns, coleslaw, pickles and whatever else you fancy.
