Setting the scene

We are a Sydney based, early stage wine startup with the mission to take the intimidation and confusion out of learning, exploring and most importantly drinking delicious bottles of wine. We are building a wine brand that is simultaneously remarkable yet inclusive, and it’s our mission to provide our customers with access to a world of wine that may just have been a little beyond their comfort zone.

We like to think of ourselves as providing monthly wine adventures, customised to each member's unique tastes, delivered to their door. Where they can learn as much (or as little) about their wines each month as they like. We're about two years old, and we've just started to hit our stride. If this sounds good so far? Great! Who we're looking for?

We're looking for someone that wants to gain a foot hold in an exciting new business. Someone who doesn't yet have all the answers but that is going to work damn hard to learn as they go. Someone that is excited about getting up to speed with all facets of how we run the business and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty in return.

Specifically, we'll need you to play a supporting role for the team in the following areas:

  • Customer service
  • Business development and marketing
  • Social media and community management
  • Operations and regular warehouse support
  • Website testing and tech maintenance

You don't necessarily need to have any experience in the above yet (so is suitable for recent graduates or someone looking for a change of direction). Instead and more importantly, you'll need to be someone with a growth mindset and grit, who can work hard, handle long hours when needed, and teach themselves what they need to know as they go. This isn't a 9-5 position... Expect to be pushed! You'll need you to be the type that can handle ambiguity and multiple things competing for your attention.

But for the right person who's going to take pride in their efficiency, enjoys hard work and gets a lot out of being super organised, we think it could be a great role. Finally you'll need to be organised and detail orientated... or preferably detailed obsessed! For instance, we love it when people address their applications email to: 'Wine Gallery HQ'.

So what's in it for you?

You can expect to learn a great deal about the ins and outs of running a business. You'll play a big role in growing what we're building. We've got grand ambitions for where we want to take this baby, and you're going to play a huge part in getting us there.

If you're interested please send through your CV and cover letter through to: including the following info: One reason why you think KPIs are important. Three reasons why you wish to work with our company. Two previous jobs or projects you've completed which have helped you develop the skills necessary for this job. Two reasons why you like operating off checklists and procedures and what you believe the benefits are.

Thank you for your time and I know the right applicant will really like this job and growing with us.
