What you'll need:

  • 2 white onions
  • 300g carrots
  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 450g minced beef
  • 400g can of baked beans
  • A splash of Worcestershire sauce
  • Some roughly chopped parsley
  • 2 beef stock cubes
Serves: 6
Time: 45 minutes

Method

First

First of all, cut your onions into eight wedges. Roughly chop up your potatoes and carrots, and boil about 900ml of water.

Second

Fry your mince in a large, non-stick pan, keeping it moving until browned all over. Crumble your stock cubes into the beef, add the chopped vegetables, and give it all a good stir. Pour in the 900ml of boiled water, and bring the whole lot up to the boil.

Third

Reduce the heat a little and simmer everything for a good 30 minutes or so, in order to mix the flavours and make the veggies tender. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and the baked beans, heat it all through and season well with salt and pepper. Serve in bowls, with a good scattering of parsley and some crusty bread. Yum!
